Community-led conservationists dedicated to protecting Sussex’s marine environment, cultivating thriving seas.

Vision: To facilitate the recovery of kelp and other essential fish habitats in Sussex in support of a thriving and sustainable marine ecosystem for the benefit of all.

​Multi-designated RSPB nature reserve immediately north and west of Selsey. An important wetland site for wildlife, featuring saltmarsh, mudflats, lagoons, reedbeds and rare, vegetated shingle beach.

Another multi-designated natural harbour to the west of Selsey with a growing seal population. Leaders of CHaPRon (Chichester Harbour Protection and Recover of Nature), a partnership whose aims include restoring ecosystems, increasing biodiversity and sequestering blue carbon.

Working to make the Solent into a functioning seascape by improving the condition, scale and connectivity of oyster reefs, seagrass meadows, saltmarsh and seabird nesting habitats.

​A Blue Marine Foundation project striving to protect at least 30% of the Solent’s seascape through nature-based solutions such as seagrass habitat restoration, oyster reefs and tern nesting islands.

A study into the reasons behind the decline in crab and lobster catches as alerted by the Selsey fishing community. Areas of study include seawater and seabed degradation.

​Providing marine ecology education, swimming, snorkelling and freediving lessons.
